Painter, Va. field day to be held June 25
PAINTER, Va. The Eastern Shore Agricultural Research and Extension Center will hold its annual field day on Monday, June 25 beginning at 4:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m.
There is no charge, but pre-registration is requested. Call Mary Lauren Peyton at the center at 757-414-0724, ext. 11. The research center is located about 70 miles south of Salisbury, Md., and approximately one mile west of Painter, on Route 614.
Field day stops and discussions will include presentations on weed control, soil fertility, pest control and plant pathology.
The research center also will host its annual weed science field day the next day, Tuesday, June 26, starting at 9 a.m.
Many of the plots established for evaluation of new and commercially available herbicides and herbicide combinations will be available for viewing.
Studies are established in wheat, soybean, corn, cotton, squash, snap beans and potatoes. Other crops will be established this summer.
